Being on the front-line is challenging and rewarding at the same time. Customers appreciate great service that comes from the heart and I'm glad to say that I've 20 loyal customers who've become friends. Even though I get posted to a different store every year or so, they will come and look for me! And I've known one for seven years now and we enjoy regular Chinese New Year visits.
It's a very dynamic environment and I've been part of several interesting experiences such as opening pop-up stores and transforming the Hello! Stores to SingTel shops. My most challenging experience so far was managing the store at Comcentre with 70 staff under me but it just goes to show that alongside SingTel, I have had many opportunities to grow and develop my career. I'm looking forward to many more rewarding experiences in the future.

I've enjoyed my time here because there is a great deal of diversity in terms of the people I work with and the projects I'm involved with. It's also allowed me to take my philosophy on IT and turn it into meaningful action. While people tend to think that IT is about designing solutions and writing programs, I believe that successful IT is all about effective communication and designing solutions that actually meets peoples' needs.
In terms of management, the bosses I've had are very supportive. They've been very open minded and willing to listen to feedback and when I decided to pursue a part-time Masters Degree in Information Systems, I was given a lot of encouragement and they helped to manage my workload too.

When I joined SingTel 11 years ago, it was at the time when the company was starting to grow our international business aggressively. It was really exciting back then because just six months into the job, I was posted to Beijing with the mission to develop our business in China. Over the years, the adventure continued as I've also been posted to Japan and traveled widely to Australia, Asia, Europe and the US to engage with top level executives and work on winning important deals together with different members across the SingTel Group.
The overseas postings in particular have been invaluable and enriching because it has given me the chance to learn new cultures and manage staff of different nationalities. Working for SingTel has indeed been a real eye-opener and extremely satisfying especially when I know I am contributing towards its growth from a domestic Telco to an international Enterprise player. In fact, many people were amazed by our success story and I often feel proud about it. It's really motivating when you know the company has a clear mission and direction to grow and fellow colleagues are all charging forward together with you to win business, increase our market share and delight our customers.

One of the reasons I chose the SingTel undergraduate scholarship was that it was the only Telco to offer a talent exchange program, with a fantastic overseas network of offices. That was important because I wanted global exposure early on and the overseas postings have proved invaluable and I'm a better person for it.
Now in my eighth year at SingTel, I've continued to stay on because I want to be a part of the next wave of exciting challenges. It's been a brilliant five years here so far. My colleagues made me feel welcomed from the start and I really enjoyed my experience working in different business units, as well as the numerous opportunities of collaboration with cross-functional units.
SingTel is a real dynamic organization focused on innovation and there is always room to challenge the current way of doing things and to learn at all levels. That is still the case now that I have joined the Digital Marketing team in Business Group to make digital an integral part of our business model and grow our digital presence. The growth opportunity in this area is huge and SingTel has actively embraced because we are one of the most innovative leaders in the industry here. Having said that, we are still young in our transformation journey and we will need to overcome many challenges for the years to come.

I'm glad that I jumped at the chance to go to Singapore and be part of SingTel's daring move towards Digital Life. At the time, I felt that it was very interesting for a Telco to move into something it had no previous experience in and we're still trying to figure out certain things!
Every project is different and there are no hard and fast rules yet in what we're doing, so we are trying our best, learning and improving quickly as we go along the way. I'm excited to see how things develop because we're developing solutions that's for the local market and internationally too. In this respect, it's great to have supportive bosses and colleagues.

I first joined SingTel as a candidate in the Management Associate Program (MAP). SingTel offered wide learning opportunities across its diversified businesses. More importantly, I wanted to find a role where I can contribute to and make a difference to people's lives. In SingTel, the ways in which our products and services are part of our customers' lives are innumerable. There are plenty of exciting things going on in SingTel, so there will be good opportunities to find what you like to do, and do well in it.
I have since met and worked with some of the most passionate and dedicated people in SingTel and I am inspired to deliver my personal best. I am glad that I don't just "have a job" with SingTel – I like that people work together to constantly find better or innovate ways to do things. The small little things such as having a shared social space on our intranet (Espresso) and friendly smiles at the lobby make a difference to my every day.

In my 5 years at NCS, I've taken on a variety of roles, from maintaining an existing system as a developer, progressing to a team/module lead, to becoming a business analyst, and now in my current role as a solution/applications architect. These experiences have indeed given me valuable insights to how each role contributes to the grand scheme of a project's success.
Because of this, you can definitely say that each day at NCS has exposed me to new learning experiences, be it in terms of technology, business strategy and human relationships. There are 2 main reasons why my career has progress and evolve the way it has. First, is the numerous internal and external self-enrichment courses that I've been sent to and just as importantly, is the fact that our senior management are receptive to new ideas, and willing to give individuals the necessary space, guidance, opportunities and resources to grow.

I've spent my entire career here and over the last 15 years, the experiences and knowledge I've learnt have been priceless. There have been plenty of opportunities to grow as I started off in engineering before moving on to product development and now in technical pre-sales. And recently, I had the honour of being the project director in delivering our services for SingTel Singapore Grand Prix and the Youth Olympic Games.
That's been the most rewarding experience so far because not only were they world class events, but I thoroughly enjoyed leading and rallying my team while working with so many different stakeholders. Such sponsorships also highlights our transformation towards being a multimedia company where delighting the customer with unique content is key. We'll also need to constantly engage with them well and give them a positive experience too.

I joined SingTel as an in-house strategy and corporate finance consultant after close to five years as an investment banker. Having advised several other telecom and media players previously, I find SingTel a truly unique organisation.
At SingTel, there are many highly dedicated teams who strive to provide the best for customers and shareholders. There is also a strong collaborative spirit where cross-functional or cross-business teams often come together to achieve common goals. These factors contribute to a conducive and stimulating work environment.
SingTel also offers a unique platform for developing one’s potential and career. I have benefitted from the flexibility and opportunities provided, from participating in in-house workshops to pursuing an external accounting qualification. The company is also very supportive of internal rotations, enabling staff to try different roles to broaden one’s experiences.

Having served more than ten years with SingTel, I have been privileged to see the organisation undergo various transformations and it brings me immense satisfaction to have contributed to the Group’s achievements.
SingTel presents plenty of opportunities for job rotation across a myriad departments and countries. My experiences have included stints in Consumer Product and Regulatory in addition to my current assignment in Investor Relations. I appreciate that the organisation is fully supportive of staff development – it has sponsored my pursuit of a post-graduate degree and sent me on a multitude of training courses both locally and overseas.

My past five years with SingTel have been transformative. My career began as an IT Business Analyst fresh out of school. Since then, I had the opportunity to be rotated across the business and have grown professionally through various roles.
Currently, I am in Group Centre of Operational Excellence (GCoE). Its mission is to innovate, incubate and inculcate new ways to achieve operational efficiencies. Our team live this out by exploring and testing new methodologies and best practices to enable their adoption by the business. Apart from working on transformational projects, I coach process improvement projects as a certified Lean Six Sigma (LSS) black belt holder.
My broad exposure has contributed a great deal to my knowledge across the business. This has also challenged me to stretch my capabilities and build my professional portfolio. It helps that the environment continues to fuel my passion for the work that I do!
