PUBLIC NOTICE - RECRUITMENT FRAUD

Singapore Telecommunications Limited, a telecommunications company incorporated in Singapore and commonly referred to as SingTel, has recently become aware of a fraudulent scheme perpetrated by a person in Pakistan who identifies himself as AMIR MALIK.

AMIR MALIK perpetrates this fraud by posing himself as a representative of SingTel’s Human Resources Department and sending emails to persons in Pakistan offering them attractive jobs with SingTel. In his fraudulent emails AMIR MALIK holds out that SingTel is in the process of establishing offices in Pakistan and taking persons in its employment.

Persons who respond to AMIR MALIK’s emails are asked to register for a test/interview and asked to pay a sum of money by way of a guarantee to ensure that they will not fail to attend the test/interview.

The public at large is hereby informed that SingTel has no present intention to establish a place of business in Pakistan and is also not offering any employment to persons in Pakistan in that connection. SingTel does not collect interview fees from job applicants. All available career opportunities are posted on our website at http://info.singtel.com/about-us/careers/job-vacancies

AMIR MALIK and other persons who may be involved in this fraud are neither employees or agents of SingTel nor are they in any way authorized by SingTel to offer any employment to persons in Pakistan.

We recommend that you do not respond to unsolicited business propositions and/or offers from people with whom you are unfamiliar. Do not disclose your personal or financial details to anyone you do not know.

If you receive such proposals, we would advise you to contact your local police and provide them with all information you may have from the senders ( email addresses, phone/fax details, etc).
