1. Sign up via Web

    Step 1: Click here to login
    Step 2: Login with your IDEAS username and password
    Step 3: Click on the plan of your choice
    Step 4: Check to agree to the terms and conditions and click "Subscribe Now"
    Step 5: An SMS will be sent to your mobile number to confirm the subscription
    Step 6: Upon receipt of the SMS, reply to confirm the subscription
    Step 7: You will receive a notification of successful activation of the service
    Step 8: You will receive a WAP notification and you may proceed to add your loved ones' mobile to the locate list.

2. Click here to access Web management portal (For Locator subscribers).

3. Sign up via *FIND (*3463) and add your loved ones' numbers.

    Step 1: Dial *FIND (*3463)
    Step 2: You will receive a service message. Click on the link.
    Please use IDEAS WAP as the access point.


    Step 3: Click on the plan of your choice
    Step 4: Click on "Confirm Subscription" Step 5: Enter your name (mandatory) and the SingTel postpaid/prepaid number
    Step 6: Click "Submit"
    Step 7: Click "Confirm". A WAP Push will be sent to your loved ones asking for their consent.
    Once they consent, a WAP notification will be sent to you. You can now start to lcoate them.

4. Add your loved ones' numbers

    Step 1: Dial *FIND (*3463)
    Step 2: You will receive a service message. Click on the link.
    Please use IDEAS WAP as the access point.
    Step 3: Enter your name in the 'Your name' field (mandatory) and the SingTel mobile postpaid/prepaid number of the person you would like to locate in the "Add me" field.
    Step 4: Click "Submit"
    Step 5: Click "Confirm"
    A WAP Push will be sent to your loved ones asking for their consent.
    Once they consent, a WAP notification will be sent to you. You can now start to locate them.

5. Locator menu

    Step 1: Dial *FIND (*3463)
    Step 2: You will receive a service message. Click on the link.
    Please use IDEAS WAP as the access point.
    Step 3: Click on the mobile number to view more options
    Step 4: Click on the respective links to make your request
    - "Locate Now" to start locating your loved ones.
    • You will see an address in the vicinity of where your loved ones are, along with a map.
    - "View Locate history (past month)"
    • Click on the Date
    • Click on the Time
    • Click on "Back" to return to the previous page or "Back to Menu"
    - "Change Number"
    • Enter the New Mobile Number
    • Click "Submit"
    • Click "Confirm"
    - "Delete Number"
    • Click "Delete"
    • Click "Confirm"
    • A WAP Notification will be sent to your loved ones/friends.
    • WAP Message: < Mobile No > has removed you from the locate list. Click on the link to find out more about Locator Service.

Note:

  1. If the number is underlined, it means that consent has been granted for you to locate them. Click on the number to view more options.
  2. If the number is not underlined, it means that it is pending for consent. You will not be able to locate them until consent is granted by your loved ones/friends.
  3. If you see ‘Add Me’, it means that you can add another valid mobile number anytime.

For your Loved ones/Friends

1. To 'Accept' or 'Reject' Consent for being located by the subscriber's request

    Step 1: Click on the WAP link in the service message.
    Please use IDEAS WAP as the access point.


    Step 2: Click yes to accept or no to reject. The subscriber will receive a WAP notification.



    Accept WAP notification:
    < Mobile No > has accepted your request to locate him/her via Locator. Click on the link to start locating.
    Reject WAP notification :
    < Mobile No > has rejected your request to locate him/her via Locator. Click on the link to add another number of your loved one/friend.

2. Hide / Unhide option

    Step 1: Dial *FIND (*3463)
    Please use IDEAS WAP as the access point.
    Step 2: Click on "Hide"/"Unhide" under the respective mobile number.
    Once you activate "hide", the subscriber will not be able to locate you until you "unhide" youself.
    No notification will be sent to the subscriber until he/she tries to locate you.

3. Remove option

    Step 1: Dial *FIND (*3463)
    Please use IDEAS WAP as the access point.


    Step 2: Click on "Remove" under the respective mobile number.
    Once you have removed yourself from the list, the subscriber will not be able to locate you anymore.

    The service is activated once you complete the WAP sign-up. However, in order to start locating someone, that person must first consent.

Usage - For Subscriber (Tracker)

  1. How do I get started in using the Service?

    You should be a SingTel Mobile postpaid customer with a WAP/GPRS-enabled mobile phone. Upon successful subscription, you may add up to 30 mobile numbers to the locate list (depending on the plan you subscribe to).

  2. Do my family members, friends or colleagues know each time I locate them?

    No.

  3. Will the service work if the person I am trying to locate has switched off his/her phone?

    No.

  4. What happens if my mobile phone has no network coverage?

    If your phone is out of coverage, it is effectively switched off from the network and cannot locate the other phone.

  5. Can I locate my loved ones or friends while they are overseas?

    No, the service can only be used to locate loved ones or friends in Singapore.

  6. Can I locate my loved ones or friends while I am overseas?

    Yes, you can. Prevailing roaming data charges apply.

  7. How accurate is the service location information?

    The location is within 50 to 500 metres of the actual physical location.

  8. Why didn't my family members, friends or colleagues receive the WAP Push to grant consent after I added them to my locate list?

    They may not be using a WAP-enabled handset. If so, they will not be able to receive the WAP Push message.

Usage - For your Family Members, Friends or Colleagues (Trackee)

  1. I received a WAP Push saying "This is a Locator Service by SingTel Mobile. It allows subscriber to locate their family & friends' location. The owner of Mobile Number <9xxxxxxx> would like to locate you..." What is this message all about and what should I do?

    This is one of SingTel Mobile's innovative services. The message is seeking your consent for the mobile phone owner to ascertain your location anytime. Once you grant your consent, the mobile phone owner will be able to locate you whenever he/she wishes, without having to call you. You will not be notified each time he/she locates you.

  2. I don't want my friend to locate me for the time being. What should I do?

    You can hide your location by *FIND (*3463). You will receive a WAP Push message. Select “IDEAS WAP” to access the link, after which, click on “Hide” under the mobile phone number which you would like to hide from.

  3. What if I do not want to be located anymore, can I opt out permanently?

    Yes. Dial *FIND (*3463) and select "Remove". Once you remove yourself from the locate list, you will not be located anymore until you consent to be added to the locate list again.

  4. How do I check which people are able to locate me?

    Dial *FIND (*3463).

Billing

  1. Will I be billed for the whole month if I apply for the service in between the month?

    No, the bill will be pro-rated upon activation

  2. Will there be any pro-rating of the bill if I terminate in the middle of the month?

    No. We therefore recommend that termination be done before the end of the month, so that you will not be charged for the next month.

  1. I have just applied for the service, but have changed my mind. Can I cancel the application?

    Once you apply for the service, it will be provided instantly. If you wish to discontinue the service, it will be considered a termination. You will be charged for the service till the end of the month

Trouble Shooting

  1. Why do I get an error message: "Sorry, Locator Service is available for SingTel Mobile customer only" when I click on the WAP Push link?

    The service is available only to SingTel Mobile postpaid customers. Please ensure that the SIM card that you are using to access the WAP Link is a SingTel Mobile postpaid SIM.

  2. I used “Add Me” to try and add a phone number. I received a reply from the system that the number is invalid. Why?

    Please check if the phone number you have entered is a valid SingTel Mobile number. You cannot add a non-SingTel Mobile number.

  3. I clicked on “Hide” but received this reply: “We are unable to process you request at the moment. Please try again later.“ What should I do?

    This happens when the service is facing traffic overload. Please try again later. If this problem persists, please contact Customer Care at 1626.

  4. Why do I get a reply "The mobile number xxxxxxxx that you are trying to locate is invalid. Please verify the number again" when I click on “Locate Now”?

    The mobile number may have been terminated. Please verify the number with your loved one or friend.

SINGTEL MOBILE SPECIFIC TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR LOCATOR SERVICE
 
1.     INCORPORATION BY REFERENCE
 
In addition to:-
(a)       the General Terms (available at : 
(c)       Specific Terms and Conditions of SingTel Mobile (available at :  
(c)       SingTel's Billing Terms and Conditions (available at :  
 
which terms and conditions are deemed incorporated by reference, the Customer shall be bound by the following Specific Terms and Conditions of SingTel Mobile's Locator Service ("Locator Terms"). In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between:
 
1)           The General Terms, SingTel's Billing Terms and Conditions and/or these Locator Terms, such conflict or inconsistency shall be resolved in accordance with the provisions of the General Terms; or
2)           Any provision of the Specific Terms and any provision of these Locator Terms, these Locator Terms shall prevail over the Specific Terms.
 
2.     DEFINITIONS AND INTERPRETATIONS
 
2.1.          In these Specific Terms and Conditions, the following words and    expressions shall have the following meanings:
"Base Station" means cellular telephone network which is responsible for handling traffic and signaling between a mobile phone and the network switching subsystem.
"Customer" means the customer who subscribes to the Service.
       "Sing"SingTel" means Singapore Telecommunications Limited (CRN: 199201624D).
 
       "Sing"SingTel Mobile" means Singapore Telecom Mobile Pte Ltd (CRN: 199406031E).
 
       "Sin"SingTel Group Company" means SingTel and each related corporation of SingTel within the meaning given in the Companies Act.
 
"Service" means the service known as Locator which allows Customers to find out the location of the Trackee.
       "Terr"Territory" means Republic of Singapore.
"Trackee" means the person who is being located by the Customer.
"Working Days" means Mondays to Fridays excluding gazetted public holidays in Singapore.
2.2.           The headings or titles to the Clauses in these Locator Terms are to facilitate reference and shall not be referred to or relied upon in the construction of any provision of these Locator Terms.
 
2.3.           The words and expressions used in these Locator Terms that are defined in the General Terms, the Specific Terms and/or the Billing Terms and Conditions but which are not defined herein, shall have the same meanings as defined in the General Terms, the Specific Terms and/or the Billing Terms and Conditions unless expressly defined herein or the context otherwise requires. 
 
3.      TARGET MARKET
 
3.1.           The Service is available to all SingTel Mobile Postpaid customers.

 
4.     Subscription and Commencement of Service and Minimum Subscription Period of Service
 
4.1.           The service shall be activated on the date the Customer subscribes to the Service ("Commencement Date").
 
4.2.           The Minimum Subscription Period for the Service shall be : 
 
4.2.1.     a period of one (1) month from the Commencement Date of the Service; or
4.2.2.     such other period as may be stipulated by SingTel Mobile as the minimum subscription period.
 
Thereafter, the Service shall continue in force until terminated by SingTel Mobile or the Customer. 
 
 
5.     TERMINATION
 
5.1.           The Customer may terminate the Service by calling 1626.
 
5.2.           Where the Customer terminates the Service, the Customer shall be liable for the fees and/or charges for the Service till the end of the said calendar month in which the termination occurs. No pro-rationing of the fees and/or charges will be granted.
 
5.3.           Upon termination of this Agreement, the Customer acknowledges and agrees that all licenses and rights to use the Service shall terminate, and will cease any and all use of the Service.
 
5.4.           Without prejudice to anything in the General Terms and Specific Terms, SingTel Mobile reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate the Customer's access to the Service for any reason whatsoever. No notice will be required to be given of such action and SingTel Mobile shall not be liable in damages or otherwise for such suspension, restriction or termination.
 
 
6.      CUSTOMER OBLIGATIONS AND ACKNOLEDGEMENT
 
6.1.           The Customer agrees not to use and not to allow or permit any other person to use the Service to: 
 
6.1.1.     cause any threat, harassment, distress, annoyance, inconvenience or anxiety to any person whomsoever or violate or infringe any other person's rights (including but not limited to the right of privacy), or interfere with another person's use of the Service;
6.1.2.     violate any laws, policies, guidelines or regulations of the Territory, including but not limited to any laws, policies, guidelines or regulations applicable to the business and operations of SingTel Mobile and/or any SingTel Group Company;
6.1.3.     carry out any activities which SingTel Mobile considers to be actually or potentially injurious to other Customers or persons, or to the operation or reputation of SingTel Mobile and/or any SingTel Group Company; and / or
6.1.4.     do any act that may at any time be prohibited by SingTel's Acceptable Use Policy which can be found at URL www.singtel.com.
 
6.2.           The Customer acknowledges and agrees that :
 
6.2.1.           the subscription to and use of the Service shall be deemed as acceptance to be bound by all the terms and conditions herein contained
6.2.2.           the use of the service is solely for lawful purposes
6.2.3.           the Customer's and Trackee's mobile numbers may be disclosed to SingTel or its business partners for the provision of this Service.
6.2.4.           the Trackee's location information provided under the Service is only a rough estimate, and is not an "accurate" current position of the Trackee.
6.2.5.           the accuracy of the Service will vary as the Service is dependent on the location of the Base Station and/or any particular cell tower of the Base Station at any point of time. SingTel Mobile in no way warrants the accuracy of any location delivered by the Service.
6.2.6.           the Service is dependent on network availability and coverage.
6.2.7.           Trackee will be required to give their consent to being located. Although SingTel Mobile will use reasonable efforts to ensure that the Service will only be used to locate a consenting Trackee, SingTel Mobile cannot and does not review and/or monitor each usage of the Service on a case-by-case basis.
6.2.8.           the number of Trackees that can be added to the locate list shall be as specified in the respective subscription plan of the Customer.
6.2.9.           the number of complimentary add/changes to the locate list is as per stated in the subscription plan. Thereafter, a sum of $0.54 per successful request (including GST) will be charged to the Customer’s SingTel Mobile bill for subsequent add/change to the locate list.
6.2.10.       he/she has to ensure that the Trackee is the intended party he wished to locate.
6.2.11.       all Trackees are required to have a valid SingTel Mobile postpaid subscription.
6.2.12.       SingTel Mobile does not warrant having any control and/or knowledge over the relationship of the Customer and the Trackee and/or the validity of any consent given by a Trackee.
6.2.13.       it is the responsibility of the Customer to obtain the Trackee's consent to be located. SingTel Mobile shall not be held liable for any failure by Trackee to provide valid consent and/or any consent unlawfully obtained.
6.2.14.       each tracking request will lapse after 24 hours from the time of request should there be no response from the Trackee.
6.2.15.       trackees will be given the option to hide from the Customer's list of Trackees at any time without any prior notice to the Customer.
6.2.16.       trackees will be given the option to remove themselves from the Customer’s list of Trackees at any time and a notification will be sent to Customer.
6.2.17.       SingTel Mobile reserves the right at its absolute discretion to discontinue and/or suspend the Service without any liability whatsoever to the Customer.
6.2.18.       absence of tracking activities by the Customer does not constitute termination of Service. Monthly subscription is billable until the Service is terminated in accordance with these Locator Terms.
6.2.19.       standard data charges of SingTel Mobile, as may be amended from time to time shall apply unless otherwise stated.
 
 
7.      DISCLAIMERS
 
7.1.           The Customer accepts and agrees that SingTel Mobile does not warrant the Service will be provided uninterrupted or free from errors or that any identified defect will be corrected; further, no such warranty is given that the Service is free from any virus or other malicious, destructive or corrupting code or program.
 
7.2.           The Customer further acknowledges and agrees that SingTel Mobile:
 
7.2.1.     expressly excludes any guarantee, representation, warranty, condition, term, or undertaking of any kind, express or implied, statutory or otherwise or any representations or warranties arising from usage or custom or trade or by operation of law, including (without limitation) as to the sequence, originality, correctness, completeness, accuracy, timeliness, completeness, currency, non-infringement, merchantability, or fitness for any particular purpose in relation to the Service;
7.2.2.     shall not be liable to the Customer for any loss, liability, costs and/or damage whatsoever (whether direct, indirect or consequential) in respect of any matter howsoever arising (whether in tort, negligence or otherwise) in connection with the provision and/or use of the Service; and
7.2.3.     to the fullest extent permitted by law exclude all warranties, rights and remedies (including warranties implied by statue or otherwise) that the Customer would otherwise be entitled to by law. 
 
8.     GENERAL
 
8.1. SingTel Mobile reserves the right to alter, modify, add to or otherwise vary these Locator Terms from time to time by notice to the Customer in such manner as SingTel Mobile deems appropriate. The Customer shall be bound by the terms and conditions so amended. In any event, if the Customer continues to use the Service after such notice, the Customer shall be deemed to have accepted the amendments.
 
TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR TRACKEE
 
1.      The Trackee acknowledges and agrees that :
 
1.1.           he has to ensure that he only grants permission to intended parties and he is fully responsible for any permission granted.
1.2.           if he is under 18 years old, parental consent is required before granting consent. SingTel Mobile deemed that parental consent is given once Trackee grant consent to being located.
1.3.           when he grants permission to Tracker, the Tracker can access his location anytime without notice unless he hides his location or when the Tracker deletes his number from their track list.
1.4.           Trackee can do *FIND (*3463) to view Tracker's list or hide his location.
1.5.           in the event the Trackee decides to give up the usage of the mobile service, he/she should notify the Tracker.
1.6.           data charges apply unless otherwise stated.
1.7.           by granting consent to being tracked, he is bound by the terms and conditions herein contained.
