  • A one-time registration fee of $10.70 is applicable.

  1. What is BlackBerry Internet Service?

    BlackBerry Internet Service is designed to allow you to set up multiple work and personal email accounts to work with your BlackBerry Wireless Handheld, such as MSN, Hotmail or POP3/Internet Service Provider (ISP) email.

  2. How is this different from BlackBerry Enterprise Solution?

    BlackBerry Enterprise Solution requires setup and maintenance of a BlackBerry Enterprise Server to manage the link between BlackBerry Wireless Handheld, email and other enterprise applications. BlackBerry Internet Service, on the other hand, allows users to access their emails after a simple setup over the Internet.

  3. Can the same BlackBerry handheld be used for both BlackBerry Enterprise Solution and BlackBerry Internet Service?

    Yes. The only difference will be the setup and configuration of the handheld to have your emails redirected to your BlackBerry handheld.

  4. What types of email accounts can be used with BlackBerry Internet Service?

    BlackBerry Internet Service supports:

    • POP3-enabled
    • ISP accounts such as SingNet
    • Hotmail
    • IMAP
  5. Will I get a new email address for BlackBerry Internet Service?

    Yes. You will be able to customise an email address such as username@singtel.ap.blackberry.net.

    If you have upgraded to BIS v2.0, the new email management allows a 30 days' auto-aging feature and your BlackBerry mailbox never gets full.

  7. How do I set up my email accounts to redirect my emails to the BlackBerry Wireless Handheld?

    Please refer to the setup guide for instructions on directing emails to your BlackBerry Wireless handheld and managing your email accounts.

    Please check your BlackBerry handheld version. Only BlackBerry software v4.0 and above supports Chinese characters.

    No.

Chargers

  1. Will I be charged for Internet surfing?

    If you surf the Internet through the BlackBerry Browser, data usage will be deducted from the BlackBerry bundle according to the Blackberry plan subscription. GPRS charges will be applicable if you access the Internet through other Access Points e.g. Internet Browser. For GPRS charges, please refer to the T&Cs for excess data charges.

  2. What are the charges for accessing emails while roaming?

  3. What are the charges for obtaining a data only SIM for BlackBerry Internet Service?

    The charge is $32.10.

    Corporate customers, please contact your SingTel Account Manager to sign up.

  2. Do I have to purchase another SIM to use this service?

    No. You use your existing SIM card.

    Yes. This service is supported by SingTel’s GPRS network which provides coverage in more than 100 destinations worldwide.

  2. Do I have to register for auto roaming to use the service to access my emails while overseas?

    Yes. You will need to subscribe to auto roaming before you leave Singapore.

    Yes. However, only one device will be active at a time.

  6. If I have a Multi-SIM, which SIM card will have the BlackBerry Service enabled?

    You should use the SIM Card with the lowest IMSI for your BlackBerry device.
