2. How is ONEOffice different from a free @gmail.com account?
You may have had experience using many of these applications with your user@gmail.com account, and while these applications are similar, ONEOffice solution for business has been enhanced with critical differences:
A. ONEOffice is for your business
When you sign up for ONEOffice for your business, you sign up with your own company domain name. So instead of having a user@gmail.com email address, you would create or maintain a company email address such as user@company.com. The admin in your company will be given rights to manage and control the user accounts across your company domain.
B. Enhanced business-oriented features
These are the features available in ONEOffice that are not available in the free consumer applications:
- ONEOffice Email: Saves all your corporate information with improved mailing list capabilities, and increased mail thresholds
- ONEOffice Site: Optimized to provide you with the right storage quotas to address your business needs
- ONEOffice Calendar: Enables conference room and resources sharing, allowing you to schedule office conference rooms or other shared resources in your office.
- ONEOffice eSMS: Usage based charges where you can send SMS to multiple recipients via your email account.
- ONEOffice eFax: Wthout having to buy a physical fax machine, you can attach a file and just send a fax the same way as sending an email.

4. What is secured SSL?
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a protocol that provides secure communications on the Internet for such things as web browsing, e-mail, instant messaging and other data transfers. If you enable SSL connections, Google will force HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure) when your users access most services in ONEOffice Apps. SSL varies by service and is available for email, chat, calendar, docs, and sites.
The advantage of SSL is added security for your users. If your users access ONEOffice Apps on a non-secure Internet connection, such as a public wireless or non-encrypted network, your users' accounts may be more vulnerable to hijacking. A secure connection prevents hijacking by protecting the cookie session. Cookie session hijacking refers to a situation where an impostor gains unauthorized access to cookies and seizes control of a legitimate session while it is still in progress.
5. Why is ONEOffice Apps secured?
Google operates one of the largest networks of distributed data centers in the world, and it go to great lengths to protect the data and intellectual property on these servers. These facilities are protected around the clock and with a dedicated security operations team which focuses specifically on maintaining the security of the environment. The controls, processes and policies that protect these data have successfully completed a SAS 70 Type II audit. There are three main components to our security practices:
- People – Google employs a full-time information security team including some of the world’s foremost experts in information, application, and network security. This team is responsible for the company’s perimeter defense systems, security review processes, and customized security infrastructure, as well as for developing, documenting, and implementing Google’s security policies and standards.
- Process – Security is part of the Google DNA. Each application is built from the ground up with security in mind. Google applications go through multiple security reviews as part of the Secure Code development process. The application development environment is closely restricted and carefully monitored to maximize security. External security audits are also regularly conducted to provide additional assurance.
- Technology – Google Apps data is fractured and obfuscated across multiple servers and disks, making it human-unreadable. Data is replicated in multiple data centers for redundancy and consistent availability. To reduce exploit risks, each Google server is custom-built with only the necessary software components, and the homogeneous server architecture enables rapid updates and configuration changes across the entire network when necessary

6. What is SAS70 Type II Audit?
The SAS 70 was developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) as a simplification of a set of criteria for auditing standards originally defined in 1988.
An independent third party auditor issued Google Apps an unqualified SAS70 Type II certification. Google is proud to provide Google Apps administrators the peace of mind knowing that their data is secure under the SAS70 auditing industry standard.
The independent third party auditor verified that Google Apps has the following controls and protocols in place:
- Logical security: Controls provide reasonable assurance that logical access to Google Apps production systems and data is restricted to authorized individuals
- Privacy: Controls provide reasonable assurance that Google has implemented policies and procedures addressing the privacy of customer data related to Google Apps
- Data center physical security: Controls provide reasonable assurance that data centers that house Google Apps data and corporate offices are protected
- Incident management and availability: Controls provide reasonable assurance that Google Apps systems are redundant and incidents are properly reported, responded to, and recorded
- Change management: Controls provide reasonable assurance that development of and changes to Google Apps undergo testing and independent code review prior to release into production
- Organization and administration: Controls provide reasonable assurance that management provides the infrastructure and mechanisms to track and communicate initiatives within the company that impact Google Apps

9. Why should I use ONEOffice instead of an on-premise mail solution?
The reason why ONEOffice is a great alternative to other alternate on-premise solutions is because;
- Lower cost: ONEOffice is being delivered over the web at a fraction of the cost of installed systems. This means that ONEOffice can provide a significantly lower total cost of ownership (TCO). Mailbox redundancy, infrastructure upgrades and infrastructure scaling are all handled behind the scenes, so your business doesn’t need budget time and money for these projects.
- Higher quality: ONEOffice offers superior security, reliability, and storage space than most organizations can accomplish with an on-premises solution
- Improved usability: ONEOffice provides a simple and intuitive interface so that there is minimal training resource for end-user.
- Leader in Innovation: ONEOffice powered by Google continues to demonstrate its industry leadership in terms of web-based innovation. Driving this platform forward, Google has the leading computing platform and have assembled one of the strongest teams of computer scientists in the industry. As an ONEOffice customer, you get to experience that innovation first-hand as product enhancements are rolled out on a regular basis.
Below are the cost factors for an on- premise solution and the comparison between on-premise cost for different segments.
