What is QuickBooks Online?
QuickBooks Online is an easy-to-use online accounting and bookkeeping software designed for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). It helps you organise your finances and comply with managerial accounting standards. Since this is an online accounting tool, there is no need to install any software on your computer. All your financial data is kept securely on our servers rather than on your computer. This means that you can access your data from anywhere, anytime and even if your computer is damaged, lost, or stolen, your data is safe and secure.
Can QuickBooks Online connect with my bank so I can reconcile my bank account?
The QuickBooks Online Product Development Team is currently working to have that option included.
Can I import transactions?
QuickBooks Online can import only Customer Lists from Excel or Outlook. You need to transfer your transactions manually.
Can QuickBooks Online interact with my Excel records (import/export)?
Currently, QuickBooks Online can accept only imported customer lists. However, you can export your financial data to Excel in the form of reports that QuickBooks Online creates for you.
Can I set different access level for different users?
Yes, you can. Administrator can assign different levels of access levels according to the each user's role. User roles range from Accountant with full access to users with only reports access.
Can QuickBooks Online personalise invoices?
QuickBooks Online can personalise invoices. It also provides tips on personalising sales forms.
Does QuickBooks Online have the ability to drill down to individual transactions from the reports?
Yes, QuickBooks Online has the ability to drill down from reports to specific transactions.
Am I able to easily see what I owe my customers and what I owe my suppliers?
Yes, all QuickBooks Online versions offer that report. The Essentials and Plus versions go beyond this with the Company Snapshot report, which can show you exactly how your company is doing in a single screen.
Can I print cheques from QuickBooks Online?
QuickBooks Online keeps track of all your bank transactions, but due to security reasons, it does not print out cheques.
Is there a way for me to transfer funds from one account to another?
QuickBooks Online has the capacity to let you transfer funds from one account to another. You have several options on how to accomplish the transfer.
Do I need my accountant to do all the transaction entries in QuickBooks Online?
Anyone you prefer can do the transaction entries in QuickBooks Online, as long as you authorise them.
How do I sign up?
QuickBooks Online is a service offered by SIngTel. To sign up, you can:
* Call our Sales hotline at 1800-SME 1111 (1800 – 763 1111) from 8am – 6pm (Mon – Fri).
* Visit Business@SingTel Shop Comcentre from 10am – 9pm (Mon – Sat) or 11am – 8pm (Sun/PH).
* If you are an existing myBusiness user, simply logon to mybusiness.singtel.com and purchase online.
Do I need a lot of training to use QuickBooks Online?
We designed QuickBooks Online to be as easy to use as possible. You do not need to know accounting. If you know how to write cheques, create and send invoices, and file your bills, you will know how to use QuickBooks Online. To help, we offer easy instructions and simple, recognisable forms so you can quickly and confidently be up and running. We also provide training support, at a low cost.
Which version of QuickBooks Online should I go for? Simple Start, Essentials or Plus?
It depends on your company's needs. QuickBooks Online Simple Start is ideal for start-ups, freelancers and home businesses. QuickBooks Online Essentials is great for established businesses as it can generate quotations, automatically create GST returns and offers more than 40 reports. QuickBooks Online Plus is perfect for busy finance departments as it can build budgets and monitor performance.
How long does it take to set up QuickBooks Online?
Not long. We just need a little information about you and your business - the whole thing usually takes less than ten minutes.
How do I pay?
Since QuickBooks Online is offered by SingTel, you do not have to make any new payment arrangements. Your QuickBooks Online subscription will feature as an additional line item in your monthly SingTel bill and you can continue paying for your SingTel services (now including your QuickBooks Online subscription) using your existing payment modes.
What is included in the subscription?
QuickBooks Online includes: Full use of the features of the particular version of QuickBooks Online (Simple Start, Essentials or Plus), automatic upgrades to your selected version at no extra cost, secure storage of your data, and telephone support at no extra cost.
Is there a minimum contract for QuickBooks Online?
Yes, there will be an initial contract period of 12 months.
Do I need to pay for additional users?
There are 3 different QuickBooks Online editions you can select from to suit your business needs. We offer licenses in quantities of 2, 4 and 6 for Simple Start, Essentials and Plus respectively.
How much does the support plan cost?
Support for QuickBooks Online is included in your subscription, you just need to call SingTel at 1606 option 2.
Where does QuickBooks Online store my company's financial data?
We store your data on our secure servers. They are kept locked up tight in a very safe location. When you log in to QuickBooks Online, the data is transferred across the internet and displayed on your computer. All your financial details are scrambled with encryption while stored on our servers, and when transferred over the internet. This means that even if someone did manage to intercept the data, they would not be able to make sense of it.
How do you ensure my financial data is kept safe?
We operate a similar level of security to online banks. For instance:
- All data is scrambled using strong encryption when it is stored. This means the data cannot be read unless you know the password to decrypt it;
- Data is also encrypted before it is sent across the internet. This ensures that even if someone intercepts it, they would not be able to understand it;
- The servers where your data are kept is in a secure location. They are protected by firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
Do you share my company's figures with anybody?
Absolutely not. In fact, our systems do not even let us see the password you use to access your data.
How often is my business data backed up?
Every two hours. Backups are performed automatically, without interrupting your work. They are kept in separate, secure locations. We will always have a safe copy of your data, even in the unlikely event of something goes wrong with our systems.
Is it safe to access my data across the internet?
Yes. We scramble all data using encryption, so nobody can understand it when it is sent across the Internet - even if they do manage to intercept it. We use the same type and strength of encryption as most online banks (128-bit SSL).
Can I export my data from QuickBooks Online?
Although the data is stored on our servers, it belongs to you. You can save your reports as Excel spreadsheet files. Most other accounting systems can open this type of file.
What happens if my Internet access is down?
If your Internet connection at your current location is down you would not be able to access QuickBooks Online. But, you can still access your books from any computer with an Internet connection.
Can I get help using the QuickBooks Online?
Yes. We understand that support is especially important when it comes to finances and accounts. We have phone support agents (call 1606 Option 2) available from 8 am to 11 pm on weekdays and 9 am to 9 pm on weekends.

I already have an accountant. Can I still use QuickBooks Online?
QuickBooks Online is designed to help you and your accountant work together better. You can give them their own username and password so they can log in, see your figures and offer their advice.
