• SMS Lite: This budget-priced service is ideal for users who do not require high-speed SMS sending throughput. It allows for transmission up to 12 SMSes per minute.
• SMS Enterprise: Ideal for users who require high-speed SMS sending. It allows for transmission up to 120 SMSes per minute.
BizLive SMS Suite of Services consists of:
• SMS Broadcast a 1-way messaging that allows the user to send SMS messages to a large group of mobile recipients through a specific web portal
• SMS Interactive is a 2-way messaging that gives the user flexibility in communicating or conducting marketing activities through a specific web portal
• SMS Aggregator (Enterprise) allows customers and system integrators to 'lease' the SMS engine to integrate into their in-house applications. Application Programming Interface (APIs) are provided.
• SMS Mail fully integrates with the customer's corporate email system. It empowers the users to make use of their existing system address book to reach out to multiple recipients with any of the 3 local mobile operators.
BizLive SMS Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is BizLive SMS and how is it different from conventional SMS?
The differences are that BizLive SMS is a web-based application that allows the user to easily send SMS via the web and it can send out hundreds or even thousands with a click of a button.
Conventional SMS only permits 1 SMS to be sent out each time.
2. What do I need to purchase?
There is no infrastructure or equipment that the customer has to purchase. BizLive SMS is a subscription-based service from SingTel.
3. What kind of connectivity is required?
For Broadcast or Interactive service, end users only need an internet connection and reach us through SingTel’s web portal: www.bizlive.singtel.com
Managing contacts
4. How many contacts can I save in the address book provided?
Each user will have a maximum of 10K of personal contact. Each BizLive account will have another 10K of shared contacts. For example, a single user ID can use up to a total of 20K contacts (10K of personal contacts and 10K of shared contacts from the company account)
5. Can I specifically send SMS to a targeted audience?
Yes, a grouping function is provided for users to target a specific audience for BizLive SMS
Broadcast and Interactive.
6. Do I need to key in all the mobile numbers every time I send out SMS using BizLive SMS?
No, this is not necessary. The user can save all the contacts in the address book provided.
7. Can a recipient of the SMS choose to opt out of future campaigns?
Yes, Bizlive interactive users can choose to enable an ‘opt out’ option when creating campaigns. If the ‘opt out’ is enabled, recipients of the SMS would just need to reply with the campaign keyword and “OUT” to stop receiving future campaigns.
Sending and Receiving of Messages
8. How many messages can I send at any one time?
For Lite plans, you can send up to 12 sms per minute. For Enterprise plans, you can send up to 120 sms per minute
9. Can I set the message to be sent at a later date?
Yes, a scheduler is provided for users to pre-set the timing when their message is to be sent. This is one of the many unique features of BizLive SMS.
10. What is the maximum length of the characters that I can key in?
The maximum message length is 500 characters (250 characters for Chinese). If a message is morethan 160 characters, BizLive will send as a concatenated message, ie recipients will see this as 1 message on the mobile phone. Pls note that for concatenated msgs, each msg can only contain up to 134 characters (67 characters for Chinese) due to overheads.
11. Does the maximum length of characters include the sender ID?
Yes, the maximum length of 500 characters includes the sender ID, but this does not include greeting and default phrase. Each greeting and default phrase has a limit of 40 characters.
12. Can I use BizLive SMS to send SMS messages to recipients who are non-SingTel subscribers?
Yes, BizLive SMS allows messages to be sent to other Singapore registered mobile numbers and also to overseas registered mobile numbers. Do note that messages sent to overseas mobile numbers will be charged at a different rate (ie. It is considered as ‘Global SMS’).
13. What will be the number displayed on the recipients’ mobile phones?
The number will be a 5 digit short code or 8 digit mobile numbers, depending on the subscription plan. You can also choose to subscribe to Number Masking service, where users can see for example, your company name (For broadcast service only)
14. Can I have my company’s name displayed on the recipients’ mobile phones?
Yes, it is possible. This private labelling technology is known as ‘Number Masking’, and is a chargeable option available in BizLive SMS Enterprise Broadcast. (Not applicable for Interactive and Aggregator customers, and not applicable for Lite plan customers.)
16. Can I be anonymous and not display any sender ID?
No, as this is for the benefit of the recipients who will be able to identify the sender.
Sending of Global SMS
17. Can I send to overseas customers?
Yes, but global SMS charges apply.
18. Are the overseas SMS sent part of the bundled usage?
No, global SMS are not part of the bundled, and are charged separately. Each global SMS is charged S$0.25. Each returned SMS (for interactive/ aggregator plans) are also charged at the same rate to the Bizlive user.

20. How does SingTel ensure that my contacts and information is secured and confidential?
SingTel will do our due diligence to keep the database secured. However, we would like to highlight that SingTel will not be liable for any loss or corruption of data or information, loss of contacts for this service, as stated in our application form. Customers are encouraged to change their password frequently to discourage misuse. They are also encouraged to export their campaigns and address book periodically for backup purposes.
